Webinar: SCP-CP
The coronavirus pandemic presents particular challenges for families in the perinatal period, health-care providers working with this population, and the therapists supporting them. The ongoing nature of the coronavirus crisis can shake up one’s belief in the ability to keep oneself and one’s baby safe, to have access to meaningful choices in perinatal and postpartum care, and to preserve attachment with a newborn when the medical environment is tumultuous.
This webinar will teach the Self-Care Procedure for Corona virus (SCP-C) developed by Gary Quinn, MD. of The EMDR Institute of Israel, adapted for the perinatal and maternal-mental health population (SCP-CP). The SCP-CP attempts to help people achieve a sense of stability and adaptability. This procedure can be taught once by a mental health practitioner and then can be utilized as needed by the client. No training or prior exposure to EMDR therapy is required.
