Throughout this training, participants will cultivate a neurodiversity-affirming lens and bolster confidence in supporting their neurodivergent (ND) clients. Starting with case conceptualization, the training will emphasize how intersectional oppression, including ableism, heightens client vulnerability to trauma and misdiagnosis. Additionally, participants will gain insights into ND-affirming treatment planning and receive an introduction to best practices for adapting therapeutic interventions for neurodivergent clients.

Facilitated by three neurodivergent clinicians, the training draws from the professional and lived experiences of the presenters, integrating emerging research and best practices. Upon completion of this training, participants will understand key aspects of the neurodiversity-affirming movement and possess actionable methods to integrate foundational principles for affirming care into their clinical settings.
