Alexa Stern

Alexa is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a faculty member at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. She has over 15 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults, groups and families in various treatment settings including inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, outpatient treatment and college counseling. As a body-oriented, integrative and experiential therapist, she believes attending to posture, gesture, breath, tensions, voice, and movement can yield powerful insights and changes in how we experience ourselves and the world and facilitate the integration of body, mind and spirit toward fuller authentic living. With advanced training in EMDR, she offers trauma focused therapy that support patients to heal from traumatic experiences and (re)connect to their wholeness, and particularly enjoys working with and supporting pregnant and perinatal populations in their journey into parenthood. She accepts a range of health insurances, including Highmark, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and UPMC.
