Jessica Ignacio

Jessica Ignacio, known to many as Jess, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) therapist in California. Her own experience of Matrescence, or the transition into motherhood, has profoundly shaped her clinical interests and passion for reproductive and perinatal mental health. As a queer mother who has navigated her own perinatal mental health journey, she is deeply committed to increasing awareness, reducing stigma, and creating space for the experiences of parents and birthing people. Jessica recognizes that systemic and societal pressures often leave individuals navigating Matrescence feeling isolated and without adequate support. She believes that intentional, compassionate care during these transitions can support individual healing, interrupt intergenerational cycles, and foster healthier families and communities. Her therapeutic approach is gentle, collaborative, and thoughtfully paced. Drawing from psychodynamic and Internal Family Systems (IFS) frameworks, she integrates mindfulness, somatic practices, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support whole-person healing. She also offers couples therapy, with a particular focus on the perinatal period and the transition into parenthood. Jessica practices through a decolonizing, culturally responsive lens, honoring diverse experiences and ways of healing. As a queer cisgender, mixed-race clinician who is often white-assumed, she approaches her work with an awareness of the privileges she carries and a commitment to ongoing reflection and accountability. She is intentional about supporting individuals and families impacted by systemic inequities, while creating a therapeutic space rooted in compassion, curiosity, and connection.
