Katelin Buchanan

Katelin is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Virginia and California, with a strong background in treating individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders, and major life transitions. She has a particular passion for supporting women navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). With advanced post-graduate training in fertility counseling and PMADs—combined with meaningful personal experience—Katelin deeply believes in the transformative power of therapy during life’s most vulnerable moments. She brings a unique blend of empathy, expertise, and authenticity to every client relationship. Katelin’s career began within a hospital system, where she provided care across inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient levels. In 2019, while living in California, she joined a private practice focused on women’s reproductive mental health, solidifying her commitment to this vital (and often underserved) area of care. After returning to Virginia in 2022, Katelin partnered with her dear friend Kristen to launch Women’s Therapy and Wellness, LLC, which opened in 2023. Co-owning the practice has been one of the most meaningful and fulfilling experiences of her life. Katelin holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Duke University and a Master’s in Counseling from Virginia Tech. She is certified through Postpartum Support International, has completed advanced training in perinatal mental health, and is trained in both Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and perinatal Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). Outside of her work, Katelin enjoys running outdoors, practicing yoga, and spending time with her husband and three children. She is grateful to be back in Virginia and considers it a privilege to walk alongside women in their healing journeys. She genuinely looks forward to connecting with you.
