Kathia Colón-González

Kathia Colón-González is a bilingual- licensed clinical social worker and the founder of Mindful Zoul Psychosocial Services, LLC. She completed her Master's degree at Rutgers University in the state of New Jersey. Also, is a support coordinator from Postpartum Support International (PSI), organization which she has received several trainings, including perinatal loss and termination for medical reasons. Kathia is EMDR-trained and specializes in maternal mental health focusing in the Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD'S), trauma, postpartum adjustment, birthing parents-couples dynamics and positive discipline throughout parenting. Kathia use evidence-based psychotherapy methods, but also utilizes an holistic approach, implementing Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), expressive arts and psychodrama. Kathia describes her practice as part of her "purpose"; which is to assist and support others in their healing process with compassion and creating a safe space for them: "People start to heal the moment they feel heard; an ear that listens can be medicine for a heart that hurts."
