Lisa Elliott

Lisa Elliott, LCSW is the founder of Bloom Therapy LLC. She is a relational psychotherapist, whose decision to enter this field was shaped by her own experiences with therapy, her work in health research, and her work as a birth doula. Her work is informed by her own identities as a queer woman, parent, and dual-national. She considers it an immense privilege to bear witness to stories of pain and healing, and is grateful you are considering putting your trust in her. Lisa's approach to clinical work is relational, integrative, and systemic. This means she sees relationships as foundational to healing and well-being, and draws on multiple therapy modalities to support growth and change. As a systemic practitioner, she believes that many factors impact mental health, and that these occur within individuals, families, communities, and whole cultures. Her areas of clinical focus and specialization are in reproductive health, trauma support & recovery, and LGBTQIA-affirmative practice. Lisa holds an undergraduate degree in Linguistics and French language translation from the University of Alberta, and a Master's Degree in social work from the University of Chicago. She has post-graduate training in the evidence-based treatment of trauma and reproductive, perinatal mental health, and EMDR. Her clinical experience includes perinatal work in hospital and outpatient settings. Lisa's current practice is open to residents of Illinois. Lisa provides individual therapy to adolescents and adults. Lisa is currently pursuing certification and advanced training in EMDR to better serve her clients.
