Lori Allen

Lori Allen is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the owner of Village Wellness Family Counseling in California. Her specialties include working with moms, parents of anxious children, and women with anxiety. Lori empathizes with the unique challenges that come with being a parent and creates a supportive and confidential environment where clients can freely express their joys and struggles of parenthood. She strives to make her clients feel more empowered by acknowledging the difficulties that can arise during pregnancy, postpartum, and raising young children. Having gone through postpartum depression and anxiety herself, Lori is well-aware of how daunting it can be to seek help, and she wants her clients to know that they don't have to go through it alone. During therapy sessions, Lori provides practical tools that can be easily incorporated into daily life to help clients feel better sooner. Lori graduated from the Phillips Graduate Institute in 2008 with a Masters degree in Psychology and Art Therapy. She is a certified Perinatal Mental Health Specialist (PMH-C), certified crisis counselor, a member of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists), and a member of Postpartum Support International (PSI). She has training in EMDR for the perinatal population, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and incorporates the best practices for treating pregnant and postpartum women.
