Dr. Sara Pollard, ABPP, is a licensed psychologist in independent practice in Dallas, Texas. She is Board Certified in Couple and Family Psychology. Dr. Pollard teaches doctoral-level psychology courses at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and provides psychotherapy, parent consultation, and psychological assessment via her private practice. Dr. Pollard has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as couples and families, with a variety of presenting concerns. She has special interests in working with the perinatal population, parent-child relationships, trauma, and cultural diversity issues. She speaks and understands Spanish and French, and she aspires to anti-oppression practices.
Dr. Pollard graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Austin College in Sherman, TX. She studied abroad in Mexico, Spain, and France during undergraduate, and then taught English in France. She earned her doctoral degree from the APA-accredited program in counseling psychology at the University of North Texas, with an emphasis in child and family psychology. She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship in clinical child psychology at Momentous Institute in Dallas, and her post-doctoral fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta with an emphasis in childhood maltreatment. Dr. Pollard is an Affiliate of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. She is certified in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is a certified trainer in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. Dr. Pollard has attended Foundational Training in EMDR with Touchstone Institute and is in the process of completing consultation hours.
