Todd Counseling is a therapy practice specializing in addressing Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADS). Sarah provides individual and family therapy to address concerns around mental health when people are trying to conceive, pregnant, postpartum, or struggling with a miscarriage or infant loss.
Being a new parent, no matter how someone comes into the role, can be difficult. It’s not unusual to experience feelings of sadness, anger, irritability, or intrusive, unsettling thoughts. Sarah's goal is to provide a safe space to vent feelings, and work through specific challenges in order to come to a happier place in life. Sarah has speciality training working with Postpartum depression and anxiety from Postpartum Support International, The Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health, as well as The Touchstone Institute. She comes to every session as a fellow birthing person/parent who can empathize with her client's experience.
Sarah employs techniques utilizing Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness-based Dialectical Behavior, and Narrative Therapy techniques to help her clients develop effective coping skills, emotional regulation, positive thinking, and distress tolerance skills.
