Serena Trimmier

I have a particular passion for working with women and families to normalize emotional experiences that can happen during conception, pregnancy, miscarriage, loss of a child, birth and postpartum. While I am highly trained in this subject, I also have experienced my own journey of loss, fertility struggles, challenges in postpartum and NICU trauma, so I get it too. I specialize in treating children and adults experiencing complex trauma and PTSD, Panic/Anxiety, Depression, suicidal ideation, Core Shame, Grief/Loss and Maternal Mental Health. I am an EMDRIA trained Level II Certified EMDR practitioner and specialize in Perinatal Mental Health and Reproductive Trauma. As an EMDR trained therapist, I help individuals overcome negative self-beliefs, phobias, traumatic life events, as well as manage pain and enhance performance in a variety of areas. Additionally, I utilize other evidence-based modalities including, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Attachment-Focused Therapy as well as other experiential therapies to help excavate your truest self. I provide an authentic and compassionate atmosphere in which my clients can safely explore and work through feelings, thoughts, beliefs, conscious or unconscious, that may be keeping them stuck. I balance the counseling process with creativity and humor, along with practical solutions and concrete goals. It is my greatest desire that each person I sit with feels seen, heard, known and understood. I too, have my own story that’s full of pain, pitfalls and weaknesses, and I continue to pursue a life of wholeness and healing. I pull from my own story, as well as my expertise when holding space for clients and bearing witness to their pain. Authentic connection is something that I greatly value both in my personal and professional life. So, I work diligently to foster a trusted relationship with each client by matching what I say with what I do. Every hour with each client has shown me the true tenacity of the human spirit – that we triumph and warrior on, throughout the most punishing and painful parts of this journey we call life. it is my deep passion to develop resiliency and empower each client to not only learn how to cope with distress, but also how to heal from it.
