Terri Buysse

Dr. Buysse (she, her, hers) is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in women's issues including those relevant to pregnancy, early adulthood, the perinatal period (pregnancy and postpartum), and menopause. She has specialized knowledge and experience working with miscarriage, birth and other perinatal traumas i.e. NICU stays, perinatal mood complications (anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts etc.), premenstrual mood disorders (PMDD), and infertility. Dr. Buysse also provides parenting support for parents of babies and young children with extensive expertise in parent education. She has advanced certification in EMDR, and is currently pursuing her certification in Brainspotting, a body based neurexperiential model that processes trauma and issues deep in the subcortex (the unconscious part of the brain). Dr. Buysse considers herself a feminist therapist and believes that individuals with sufficient support and expert direction have the ability to heal their own brains. She is a collaborative therapist who works hard to follow the client's lead, spending most sessions "in the tail of the comet" letting the client intuitively take themself to their specific place of healing. Dr. Buysse has a private practice in Everett, Washington and can provide telehealth to anyone in the State of Washington. She received her doctoral degree from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California in 2000 and has been specializing in women's issues since graduate school. She has two children who are in college and works hard to both let her children spread their wings while simultaneously being available as needed. Dr. Buysse enjoys yoga, reading, hiking and spending time with friends. Her newest hobby is swing dancing.
