Debbi Shamon

Already an experienced clinician trained in trauma work, when Debbi Shamon had her oldest of four children, 16 years ago, she became passionate about the need for specialized support for people growing their families. Trained in EMDR and perinatal mental health, Debbi's virtual practice focuses on providing supportive, trauma informed therapy aimed at developing a trusting, holding relationship to support new parents through the most joyous and connected periods, and at times darkest and most challenging times of life. Using humor and a warm open style, Debbi utilizes a variety of tools including EMDR, mindfulness practice, CBT, and supportive psychotherapy to address the challenges of new parenting. With a background in child development and infant/maternal mental health , as well as being the parent of four children, Debbi can support new parents to understand their child's attachment needs as well as their own as they grow in their role as parent. Debbi is a licensed clinician independent social work in the state of Massachusetts.
